Music Is The Medication For Our Soul #WorldMusicDay

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

-Berthold Auerbach

Music has the power to heal the broken and disturbed soul. Music communicates in a way that makes day-to-day language seem inadequate. Music can be sort of like medicine to the mind. Listening to soft music calms you down and makes you feel more relaxed, simply because the music creates such an atmosphere of rest.

According to various experiments conducted by many doctors around the world, it has been concluded that music can speed up the healing process in your body. It can be like a tranquilizer that soothes our mind and body and can be very relaxing. Research says that those who listen to music before and after surgery are more calm and in less pain. This natural pain reliever can also be defined as a treatment known as “musical therapy,” which is the prescribed use of music, and the relationship that develops through shared musical experiences, to assist or motivate a person in getting better.

Last week, from Saturday onwards till yesterday, I had fever and stomach cramps. My condition was very bad. I felt very nauseous. I didn’t even have the energy to stand. After taking my medicine, I would just lie down on my bed and listen to soft instrumental music by Kenny G. I would feel so nice. For a moment my pain would disappear and I would drift into a peaceful sleep for few hours.

Why waste money on psychotherapy when you can listen to the B Minor Mass? ~Michael Torke

Music is the best medicine for anything, in my opinion. Whether you recently broke off with someone or you are just having with fever, music can mend anything. Music has the sneaky ability to unintentionally distract us from the pain.

That doesn’t mean all genres of music can be soothing. If you have a terrible headache and you tune into hardcore metal or rock music, it sure isn’t going to help. It will simply make your headache worse. Mostly soft music or music having a romantic feel or simply instrumental music (devotional or non devotional) is usually helpful.

Playing music is a great way to feel better. It improves our mental state and relieves us of the physical and emotional roadblocks that happen during a tiring days.Music has mood enhancing capacities and may be underestimated as a way to augment other treatments.

Take this challenge, next time if you are traveling in a train or a bus or any other vehicle and you feel sick, tune in to some soft music and close your eyes and just focus all your energy on the music, I can guarantee you that you will feel way better. Or if you have to give a presentation or step up and talk front of a huge crowd or you get cold feet or feel stressed, just sit down in a corner far away from all the people, tune into some music for a minute or two and focus your full energy only and only on the song. I am sure you yourself will find a difference.

You must have noticed that doctor’s clinic’s or banks, or offices or hotels usually have soft music playing in the background. It’s because, music helps you feel less stressed and increases productivity. In an experiment conducted it is proven that melodies can help heal dis-harmonies in speech.

Music works miracles with boosting our moods, igniting our memories, and moving our bodies. I would like to end with a quote by John A. Logan ;

Music's the medicine of the mind.

HAPPY WORLD MUSIC DAY

Understand Impact Of Advertisement Before You Regret.

“Creativity without strategy is called art. Creativity with strategy is called advertisement."

We come across different types of advertisements in our lives. They have invaded every aspect of our day to day dealings, our conversations, our thoughts and to a certain extent control our behaviour. Advertising is a way of communication. The main purpose of advertisement is to popular their name and become a good status in the world. They persuade customers to purchase a particular brand of product.

Remember when Idea Network came up with “Hello Honey Bunny,” or Vodafone’s Zoo-Zoo or “Washing powder Nirma”or the Amul girl. These are just few examples but there have been so many advertisements that have had great impact on our lives.

We can see and hear advertisements everywhere, in a store window, on the bill boards, through the radio, on the television, the internet, in our mailbox, and even in video games.

Advertisements help the customers to choose which product is better that the other products of the same kind. It also provides the customers all the information about the products, the cost, the ingredients, the quality, etc. Instead of going out to the factory where products are made, people only have to stay at home, turn on the TV or Radio or Connect to the internet and take a look at the advertising channel or website or just Google the product name.

Companies have even come up with various competitions to promote their products. They give away free samples and take customer feedback. Most of the time companies hire celebrities to advertise their products. Having a popular face associated with a product will increase the trust factor.

Advertisements can be used to create brand awareness in general to the public and to make business more popular within the circle of potential buys. In short advertisements give a proper introduction of brands. Thus advertisements increase the demands of the public consumption which directly boosts the sale of the brand.

Advertisements help to increase the sale of goods, so producers can sell goods at reasonable prices. They raise the standards of living of people by drawing attention to new products and ideas. It can be easily understood by every person.

But sometimes some advertisements don’t make any sense at all. They promote a very negative image. Showing girls getting turned on when they smell your perfume isn’t something meaningful and we all know it’s false. Also eating some paan masala won’t make you look smart.

They make us believe that our dreams will come true if we use their products. A lot of advertisements are there that make people feel depressed with their ordinary lives, like fairness cream ad’s. Every face cream advertisement says about changing the black skin tone color to white.

Conclusion:

The message that advertisements send to the people are very powerful and companies should take care to remember that, it’s not just what they say that affects people but its how they say it. The advertising has deep impact into the minds of the viewers especially among the children. Hence the ad makers must be aware of the social consequences of the ads.

Get Fair and Glowing Skin With These Simple Methods.

So the tough summer is finally coming to an end. With the drops of rains, the weather has begun to cool down. Wedding season will be here soon. Everybody is trying to make their skin look fair and party ready. We all want to get rid off the year long summer tan and the oiliness.

Every woman is blessed with amazing skin. But pollution, climate, makeup, etc make our skin dull and take away its glow. At such time we dream to get back our fairer, flawless and smoother skin tone. To fulfill this dream, we turn to skin lightening creams, lotions, and whitening pills. These skin lightening products contain harsh chemicals that can cause severe skin irritation, uneven bleaching of the skin, dryness, and discoloration.

Most of the times people use chemical products which are not suitable for all skin types. But don't worry. The Confused Mango is here with few amazing home remedies that will help you get back your beautiful skin again.

Disclaimer: FIRST CHECK IT OUT ON YOUR HAND AND THEN APPLY ON YOUR FACE.

Lemon Juice works wonders.

A common household ingredient, lemon juice, works wonderfully to lighten skin tone. Use lemon juice in your face packs and see the difference. To get rid of stubborn tan, you can simply cut a lemon in half and rub it on the skin and wash off with warm water.

Apply lemon for your elbows and knees and feet which will get rid of blackness and from cracks. Remember, Lemon juice can be used but not too much as it contains citrus acid in it. Make sure to use a moisturizer after a lemon wash because lemon dries off your skin and if you have a sensitive skin, it is better to dilute it. Vitamin C is not suitable for all skin types.

Milk for Milky White Skin?

Use milk or curd, they are the best for a fair and glowy skin. You can massage them on your face and rinse it off after 15 or 20 minutes. Curd or Milk can be combined with many other herbal ingredients found in your kitchen inorder to make home made pure facepacks.

 Image result for milk

Here are some combinations:

Curd + Besan (Gram Flour)
Papaya + Milk which will act as an amazing scrubber
Curd + honey for good skin massage
Cucumber + honey + curd for glowing skin

Another amazing face pack which I have been using regularly is Besan + Turmeric + honey + milk or curd + Rose water. Simply mix these in a plastic bowl and apply it on your face. Then, allow it to dry and wash it off with luke warm water. You can do this daily if possible as the results will be better.

For skin whitening use one tablespoon of dry shredded coconut with warm milk, one tablespoon of rice flour and one spoon of baking soda make a paste apply it on your face or body allow to dry and washed with water. Try twice a month u can get fair skin.

Fruits and Veggies Are A Treasure

Potatoes also work great for skin care treatment. Simply cut one potato and rub the moist part on your face. Massage well and rinse off.

Orange juice is also really good to drink as well as to apply to your face. Orange peel powder can be applied for better glowing in the face.

Banana's are also filled with amazing healh properties. Apply smashed Banana and let it dry and wash off with normal water.

Another lesser known remedy is watermelon juice face pack. We can apply watermelon juice and let it dry and wash and see the magic.

Rubbing a fresh cucumber smoothly over the skin refreshes it and adds a glossy shine too. Repeat this method everyday for about 5-10 minutes and you'll gradually feel your complexion getting fairer.

Rose: The Flower of Love and Beauty.

Rose water has ample of benefits. I'll be posting another article specially dedicated to the benefits of rose.

For amazing skin care results, apply Multani mitti + Rose water every night (before sleeping) and rinse it off with normal water.

Another simple method is mixing rosewater +glycerine which will help you get softer glowing skin. But I recommend testing this on your hand first.

You can also apply a paste of rose petals on your skin and acrub it off after it dries regularly to get baby pink lips.

Must Do Things:
Water is the best thing for a healthy skin. Drink as much water as you can. Water helps to keep your skin stay hydrated and also helps out to flush out toxins.

Besides all these one should eat well +drink lot of water+sleep well and think very less which are not necessary for us.
Staying out of the sun for prolonged hours and using natural facial masks will also keep your skin from getting darker.

Exercise helps you to stay healthy and get rid of toxins. There are various yoga's and exercises for beauty care.

When choosing a sunblock, try to find one with a mineral block such as Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide. Not only are these broad-spectrum blocks, they naturally add a slight whitish tinge most people do not like. But since you are trying to appear paler, this is exactly what you want! If it goes on too whitish, just mix a little with your foundation to even out the colour.

These remedies help reduces the production of melanin in the skin and helps in achieving a much fairer and brighter complexion. If Mother nature has blessed us with natural ingredients to lighten skin at home then why choose commercial lightening creams which are unnatural, artificial and damaging to the skin.

I'll be sharing videos on these face packs on my Youtube channel too.  To subscribe to my Youtube channel, click here

Product Review: Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream

Hello guys,

I am back with another review. I have been waiting to review this product for quite sometime now and finally it's here. This is one of the most popular products in the Indian market and is a very common household name.

This product has been used in my family from a long time. From my mom to me, everyone of us have used this product for a long time.

Product being reviewed:

Vicco Turmeric Skin Creme

Product Review: Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream

Description and Ingredients:

Vicco Turmeric Skin Creme with Sandalwood Oil, an Ayurvedic medicine, prevents and cures skin inflections, inflammation, blemishes, wounds, and other skin disorders. It soothes boils, pimples, acne and burns. It nourishes the skin, improves tonal value and makes it fair and beautiful. Contains Water, Stearic Acid, Turmeric, Sorbitol, Methyl Paraben Sodium, Propyl Paraben Sodium, Sodium Hydroxide, Sandlewood.

Packaging  and Look:

The cream comes in a orange-yellow tube which is further packed in a box. The box as well as the tube, both have the list of ingredients written on it along with the description of the product (mentioned above). The cream is golden-yellow in colour and has a thick consistency.

Price:

Rs.150 for 50g (may change)

Review:

The product claims to help prevent acne along with curing skin problems. This product has been doing rounds since a very long time. One of the biggest benefit of this cream is that it is completely ayurvedic thus making it beneficial to the skin. The creme has a sandalwood oil kind of fragrance which is plesant and not something that will irritate people with sensitive nose.

Product Review: Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream

The cream stays on the skin for a long time and gives a matte kind of finish. However, if used too much, cream is thick and is very difficult to blend in with the skin. After the application, it somewhat leaves your skin a bit bit dry and gives it a yellowish look. Hence, it is advised to use a very less amount on your skin. Also, it should be massaged quickly to get it absorbed into the skin soon and get rid of any patchiness and get a matte finish.

The product contains sandalwood oil. Sandalwood has many benefits for the skin like anti-tanning, anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing property and so much more. Turmeric is effective in the treatment of acne due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties that fight pimples and breakouts to provide a youthful glow to your skin. Turmeric not only helps to clear acne scars and inflammation, but also reduces the oil secretion by the sebaceous glands.
The main ingredients of Vicco Turmeric skin cream are turmeric 16% and sandalwood oil - See more at: http://acnemantra.com/review-vicco-turmeric-cream-acne-pimple/#sthash.j0CeWKVt.dpuf
The main ingredients of Vicco Turmeric skin cream are turmeric 16% and sandalwood oil - See more at: http://acnemantra.com/review-vicco-turmeric-cream-acne-pimple/#sthash.j0CeWKVt.dpuf

The creme does reduce your pimples, blemishes and inflammation. It also helps in decreasing the visibility of the scars and dark spots. It also helped me get even skin tone. But to see continued results, it is very important to use this product on a daily basis.I say this because, I missed applying this product for few months when I was on a trip, and my skin was back to how it was before with acne breakouts.

The best thing is that the product is easily available in any medical store, kirana store or in the supermarket. I love using this product as a night cream. I personally have not experienced any side effects from using this product. You may not experience the results right away. It may take some time.

One of the  key ingredients in products these days is SPF and this product misses this feature. Also, if you are allergic to tumeric, this product may not be the one for you. Different people/skin types may react differently to this product. If you have deep scars or bad acne, this product may or may not be affective on your skin. The product has a non-oily based formula and thus may be not suitable for people with dry skin. Also, I recommend that this shouldn't be used in winters.

 Rating:

Since, I found this product helpful I would like to rate it 7/10. This rating is totally based on my experience.

Navigating Through The Future- What the future may look like?

The 21st century has begun.

Man, through the ages, has undergone many changes from the time when he depicted a herd of mammoths on the walls of his cave to these days when he can create beautiful pictures and even make coffee by use of computer technologies without leaving his favourite chair. The 20th century made huge steps in developing computer technologies and reached many goals that made our life much easier. What should we expect in the 21st century?

First of all, I think that the pace of our life will speed up: we will move faster from one place to another, from one continent to another using high speed jet airplanes. Second of all, I believe that we will be able to do many things that take much time now without leaving our house. Computers will be everywhere including in our clothes. Many people may even have chips and mini computers inserted in their heads to hold huge amount of information and have a quick access to it. (Just saying!)

http://gighub.net/uploads/posts/2014-10/1413280873_1402595079_the-sims-3-into-the-future-thumb09.jpg

But what will be the most amazing thing in the 21st century are the flights to the outer space and Mars that will be available to all people. The one way trip to Mars is already in progress. Scientists say that Mars has many things similar to the Earth's. Moreover, they say that with the help of modern technology people can artificially create conditions that will allow people to live there on the constant basis.

Life would have become even easier. People would have found ways to take care of the climatic change. We could have cheap power to get us past our petroleum-based economy. We could also deal with a lot of pollution by eliminating coal and petrochemical power plants. We could eliminate more by feeding the pollutants directly to the reactor.

Everyday chores would become even easier. New technologies will make life simpler. Every piece of hospital equipment will be computer driven & the computer experts run the show with the doctors depending on the heavily. And they could have mechanical organs, so if somebody’s organ fails, they use those. Connectivity (Phones and other gadgets) will make life more interesting. Travel will be a lot easier too. Maybe even teleportation would be possible.

http://na.lvlt.sims3store.cdn.ea.com/u/f/sims/sims3/sims3store/objects/routineMachineClassic/Thumbnail_688x336.jpg

To sum up, I am sure that many amazing changes will be brought by the 21st century. Furthermore, I think that with the help of the contemporary technologies people can do many things that were even difficult to imagine a century ago. So, nowadays it is rather difficult and even impossible to imagine all changes that will happen in the next decades.

But hopefully, there will be an end to all the evil things. All the new inventions are hopefully not put to a bad use. But you never know what will happen. Lets pray things change for better.

I would like to end with a quote from Journey through the Power of the Rainbow: Quotations from a Life Made Out of Poetry by Aberjhani

“We are living in an era in which billions of people are grappling to promote communication, tolerance, and understanding over the more destructive forces of war, terrorism, and political chaos that have characterized the beginning of the 21st Century.”

Why SME Owners Need to Go to a Marketplace Lender for Business Loans?

Instead of going to a single lending institution, business owners should go to a marketplace lender instead. There are many advantages that a marketplace lender can offer to SMEs in India. Traditional lending institutions are under serving their customers on products, service, and prices. And in most cases, they are too strict in providing small business loans and mortgage loans. They make it difficult for small business owners to find a lending institution that will give them a loan.

Why SME Owners Need to Go to a Marketplace Lender for Business Loans?

When business owners look for a single lending institution, they spend a lot of time and effort going from one lender to another. And more often than not, they don’t have a lot to choose from. Traditional lending institutions will offer four to five loan products with low amounts.

Better Alternative for Business Loans

The good news is that there’s a better alternative than looking for a single lending institution. SMEs can go to a marketplace, such as Loan Frame, to find better-priced business loans. SMEs gain access to several finance companies within the marketplace. There’s no need to go from one website to another because the online marketplace already has different lenders within a single platform.

While most business owners still turn to traditional lending institutions for their funding needs, there are others who are already benefiting from online marketplaces. They gain access to different finance companies within a website. Below are other reasons why SMEs should consider going to a marketplace lender instead of a single lending institution.

Provides Flexibility

A single lending institution will provide fixed or variable business loan interest rate. However, the choices are limited. Some of the loan products they provide include term loans, credit cards, and lines of credit. However, individuals who require flexibility with their business loans should consider going to a marketplace lender. One will be able to provide loans that serve different purposes. Finance companies can also provide a wide range of loan sizes based on the needs of the business. Traditional lending institutions have a set loan amount, and can’t offer lower than it. On the other hand, a marketplace lender can easily provide a small loan amount when needed.

Faster Processing

Applying for traditional business or mortgage loans can take a lot of time. One of the advantages of going to a marketplace lender is that its process is much faster. And because they are not traditional lending institutions, they don’t need to worry about strict regulations during the approval process. More often than not, they don’t require a lot of paperwork as well. Business owners will spend less time preparing the documents, and the single lender institution will spend less time going through the application. The process of getting business loans is much faster through the marketplace.

Conclusion:

These are just some of the reasons why it is better to go to a marketplace lender, such as Loan Frame. Business owners can look for the right loan solution by looking at different finance companies within a single platform. The marketplace lenders offer loan products based on the needs of the business, and not own.

What To Eat In Mumbai! #MustTry #StreetFood.

“There is no sincerer love than the love of (street) food.” – George Bernard Shaw

Mumbai, hands down, is the best city in the world. I love living in Mumbai no matter what. I was born and brought up in Mumbai and that is why the city runs in my blood. Mumbai is known as the city that never sleeps. Once you lived in Mumbai and made it your home, no other place is good enough for you.

If you are a Mumbaikar, I am sure you would be a fan of the street food. You must have surely tried at least 3 different types of Mumbai street food in your life. I simply love street food. I know it is not healthy but love is blind.

My college timings were terrible. I used to just have tea and chapatti and leave the house and return for evening tea. Sometimes I used to not even get a chance to have breakfast. My college canteen never restocked food and mostly the afternoon batch stayed hungry. At such times, it was the street food that came to my rescue.

Mumbai is known for its distinctive street foods. People of Mumbai cut across barriers of class, religion, gender and ethnicity are passionate about street food. Lanes with a sizable cluster of street food stalls are known as "Khau Galli's" locally.

A diverse ethnic and cultural spread gives Mumbai its unique flavor. If there is one thing you must do when you visit Mumbai it is to put all fears aside and try the street food; because, honestly, it’s simply the best. Mumbai's taste buds long for appealing street food which is easy on pocket & delicious.

Here is a list of the fantastic street food found in Mumbai. There are countless variety of street food found in Mumbai but the one's on this list are my favorites. Pardon me is the list is long!

  • Vada Pav
Also known as the Mumbai burger. This dish doesn’t need any introduction. It is a ritual to keep vada pav at the top of the list when talking about Mumbai Street Food. It is the most filling, delicious and cheap snack. Whether rich or poor, everyone in Mumbai is a huge fan of the famous Vada Pav.

  • Paani Puri
Paani Puri tops my list. Pani Puri is my most favorite chaat from childhood. I used to have pani puri often with my family on the streets of Mumbai and it was something I have thoroughly enjoyed. I can eat almost 60 puris in one go. I don’t know who invented pani puri or how it came into existence. It’s one of the popular street foods of India. Whereas in Mumbai, we call it Pani Puri. In the northern states it’s called as Golgappa and in Bengal, it’s called as Puchka. (correct me if I'm wrong)

  • Chinese Bhel
Chinese Bhel is an Indian fast food originated from Mumbai. I am currently eating Chinese Bhel as I write this post. Chinese bhel has become a hot favorite among youngsters. Crispy noodles mixed with Schezwan sauce and veggie, that’s it, and you get a fantastic mouth watering dish.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/V5Q2H2g810U/maxresdefault.jpg

  • Pav Bhaji
Pav Bhaji originated in Mumbai. Pav Bhaji is a famous street food in Mumbai. It is a colorful mixture of many vegetables. It is a good for health. Pav Bhaji is a quick snack available on every street corner. Pav bhaji with extra butter is one of Mumbai's hottest selling fast food and street food. One plate of Pav Bhaji is enough to make your tummy full.

  • Misal Pav
Misal pav is one of the traditional Maharashtrian dish and also a popular Mumbai Street Food. Misal is a lip-smacking cocktail of savories and sprouts. Misal Pav is also known for its high nutrition value. Misal Pav" is relished as a breakfast as well as a snack throughout Maharashtra. Every Saturday is Misal Pav day at my dwelling.

  • Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich
Two slices of bread stuffed with butter, potato filling, spicy green chutney and lots of cheese and heated in a grill sandwich maker and served with sev and sauce, this is the definition of awesomeness. Also called as Bombay Masala Toast, this is a popular vegetable sandwich found in Mumbai. The roadside sandwiches in Mumbai though, have a story of their own. There are unlimited variations of sandwich: butter, mayonnaise, cheese, schezwan, toasted, grilled, egg, vegetable but my favorite is Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich.

  • Shawarma
Shawarma is a Levantine Arab fast-food staple. One shawarma is enough to fill your empty stomach. Unless you have a big appetite like me! I think you will find the best shawarma joints in Bandra, Churchgate, Andheri to name a few. I haven’t tasted shawarma from many places in Mumbai. The shawarmas at the Mohammed Ali road are one of a kind. I love the shawarma from Mira Road stalls (somewhere near Naya Nagar). They are cheap, big and delicious or in other words, fantastico!!! If you know any good shawarma joints, please let me know through the comments.

  • Dabeli

Dabeli is another version of vada pav made with a sweet and spicy potato mixture which is filled into a small burger bun and then topped with onion, pomegranate, fresh garlic chutney and sev. I think somewhere; this is like a combination of pav bhaji and vada pav. I am not 100% sure, but I once read that dabeli originated from Kutch in Gujarat. It is a great Indian street food-style dish.

  • Ragada Pattice

Ragda Pattice is yet another chaat recipe from Mumbai. Potato patties are topped with dried green peas gravy, two chutneys, onions and sev.  I somewhere read that it is a popular breakfast dish from Marathi cuisine.

  • Bhurji Pav
Spicy scrambled eggs garnished with amazing masala’s and served with hot butter bread is the definition of Bhurji pav. This is a mouth watering delicacy. There is fast food shop near my house and he prepares like the best bhurji pav ever. I have tasted bhurji pav from so many other places but this one is my favourite.

  • Dahi Puri
Dahipuri, or Dahi puri, is an Indian snack which is especially popular in the state of Maharashtra. The dish is a form of chaat and originates from the city of Mumbai. The round, hard, puffy puri shell is first broken on top and partially filled with the main stuffing of mashed potatoes or chickpeas garnished with sweet curd and spices.

  • Frankie
I simply love Frankie. There are various varieties of frankies available at the chaat stall near my place like cheese frankie, simple frankie, Chinese Frankie, veg Frankie, non-veg Frankie, etc. There are various sub-varieties under these too. I love eating the Chicken Tikka Frankie. Which is your favourite?

Mumbai boasts of variety of street foods that it puts on display and everyone, from billionaire to beggar. A huge aspect of culturally diverse Mumbai is the culinary experience the city offers.

Share your favorite street food from your city in the comments section with me and help spread the foodie love.
